RADIOACTIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT

Monserco Limited provides complete waste management services for all types of radioactive waste. Monserco holds the only commercial Waste and Nuclear Substance Licence issued by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and, in addition, possesses a Certificate of Approval from the Ministry of the Environment. 

Monserco's complete radioactive waste management service includes:

1) Routine collection of radioactive material from laboratories and waste storage areas on regularly scheduled pick-ups or on an as-required basis;

2) Bags, labels, drums (on consignment), necessary for the accumulation, packaging and transportation of radioactive material;
 

3) Absorbing media for the solidification of radioactive liquids;

4) A Suitably Qualified and Experienced (SQE) Radiation Technician to collect, package, monitor, label (if required) and complete all necessary documentation for transport in accordance with the Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials, Packaging and Transport of Nuclear Substances and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations and Monserco Quality Assurance procedures;

5) A licensed and insured vehicle and SQE driver to transport the Radioactive Material to Monserco’s CNSC licensed facility.

6) The review, evaluation and assessment of radioactive waste handling policies and procedures. Monserco provides free advice and support to organizations contemplating a process that would produce radioactive waste.
